While we
still wait to see the performance that the Anonymous have to do
during the gala in which the Pubilla and the Hereu of the
Central Catalonia have to be chosen (in Castellbell i el Vilar), yesterday evening we had
something related. Escaldes-Engordany celebrated its annual 'Elecció
del Pubillatge' with some eurovisive presence.
Marta
Roure, the first Andorran singer in the Eurovision Song Contest
hosted this show, next to the former sportsman and current radio
moderator, Xavi Mújal. A part of that, the lead singer of the
Anonymous, N!ki Francesca was also there, but among the
audience. The reason was that her gilfriend, Marta Antelo, was
until yesterday the Pubilla of Escaldes-Engordany 2007.
Actually,
just before the jury came up to the stage to say who where the
new Pubilla, Pubilleta and Hereu, there was a delay, and the
hosts joked about asking N!ki and Marta to perform something of
the Eurovision to fill the time.
Pubilles, pubilletes and hereus
For those who don't know at all what are we
talking about, the Pubilla, the Pubilleta and the Hereu are a
traditional character of the Catalan Culture. They exist in many
villages and cities and they are chosen to represent their town
in institutional activities in other towns.
